After great anticipation, Catherine, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge (or "Kate" as we all know her), has given birth to a boy 11 hours after checking in to St Mary's Hospital in London. The boy who's name has not yet been announced was born at 16:24BST, weighing 8lbs 6oz.
He is third in line to the British throne behind dad and granddad. His arrival sees uncle Prince Harry move down the line of succession from third to fourth.

The new line of succession goes like this: Charles, William, His Royal Highness Prince (name) of Cambridge, Harry, The Duke of York, Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, the Earl of Wessex, Viscount Severn, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, the Princess Royal, Peter Phillips, Savannah Phillips, Isla Phillips, Zara Phillips.

The British public can expect a Royal salute of 41 guns and town criers will also sound out the news.

The official birth announcement

Babies born on the same day as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's first child will receive a free "lucky" silver penny.
The penny, which will be presented in a pink or blue pouch, has been marked with the year 2013 to commemorate the babies' year of birth and features a shield of the Royal Arms.
The Royal Mint said "parents of newborns who share their birthday with the third-in-line to the throne need to apply online for one of the 2,013 coins that have been struck" by visiting Facebook/The Royal Mint.

I can't wait to hear what they have named him and to see what he looks like! CONGRATULATIONS William and Kate...welcome to sleepless nights!
